YEAR-9

Key Stage 3 - Year 9

In Year 9 the Science course is divided equally into three main subject areas: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. The work is largely practically based and involves the pupils in making their own decisions and planning practical work as well as encouraging both written and spoken communication. The work is divided into self contained units, at the end of which assessment is by written test. The following units are covered during the year.

Biology - Pollution, Active Body,Health, Variation
Chemistry - Elements, Mixtures & Compounds, Matter, Chemical reactions
Physics - Light, Sound, Electromagnetism, Forces & Gravity
